You’re searching for clear guidance, instant feedback, and a fun safe space for your pup to learn and grow.

That’s exactly why Graceful Little Paws Puppy School exists.

We help new puppy owners feel calm, confident, and in control through positive reinforcement training that builds your pups trust—not fear.

What Does Puppy School Look Like?

Week 1:
Let’s Get Started!

  • Learn the Importance of Force-Free Training
Emphasizing gentle, positive reinforcement builds trust and confidence in your dog, eliminating fear or confusion during learning.

  • Socialisation
Early and positive socialisation supports your puppy to develop into a calm, friendly, and confident adult dog, comfortable in various environments.

  • Potty Training Tips
Establishing a consistent routine combined with gentle guidance speeds up toilet training, making the process less stressful for both you and your puppy.

  • Mouthing & Chewing Solutions
Teaching your puppy appropriate biting behavior protects your hands, shoes, and furniture while fostering healthy habits.

  • Marker Training (“Yes!”) & Eye Contact (“Look”)
Using a clear marker word along with encouraging eye contact enhances communication and focus, simplifying all aspects of training.

Week 2:

  • Reading Puppy Body Language
Learning to recognise your puppy’s signals helps you understand when they’re happy, unsure, or need space, so you can respond the right way.

  • Enrichment
Providing mental games and problem-solving activities keeps your puppy entertained, builds confidence, and reduces unwanted behaviours.

  • Relax and Settle: “Go to Mat”
Teaching your puppy to settle on a mat helps them learn calm behaviour during mealtimes, when visitors arrive, or when you need a break.

  • “Touch” for Focus
A simple hand-target exercise that builds attention, boosts recall, and strengthens your bond with your puppy.

  • “Down” (Laying Down)
This calming cue teaches your puppy to lie down on cue, helping them settle and focus even in distracting environments.

Week 3:

  • Jumping Up Solutions
Teaching polite greetings helps your puppy keep all four paws on the ground instead of jumping on people, making interactions calmer and safer.

  • Handling
Gentle handling exercises get your puppy comfortable with being touched, groomed, and checked over, making vet visits and grooming stress-free.

  • Resource Guarding Prevention
Helping your puppy feel safe when you’re near their food, toys, or resting place builds trust and prevents guarding behaviours later in life.

  • “Leave It”
This skill teaches your puppy to ignore things they shouldn’t touch, like dropped food, socks, or items found on the ground.

  • “Wait” & “Free”
“Wait” teaches patience at doors, before meals, or in exciting situations, while “Free” lets your puppy know when they’re released.

  • Recall (“Come”)
A strong recall ensures your puppy returns to you every time, keeping them safe and giving you peace of mind.

Week 4:
Adolescence
As puppies grow, their teenage stage can bring new challenges. We’ll cover what to expect and how to stay consistent so good habits stick.

Loose-Leash Walking
Teaching your puppy to walk calmly by your side makes outings more enjoyable and prevents pulling from becoming a long-term habit.

“Stay”
This cue helps your puppy remain in place, building patience, self-control, and reliability even with distractions around.

“Spin”
A fun trick that not only entertains but also improves your puppy’s focus and responsiveness to training.

What is Positive Reinforcement Training?

We reward your puppy for getting it right, instead of punishing them for getting it wrong. It builds confidence, trust and real connection.

Your pup learns to listen because they want to, not because they're scared.

When your dog sits, comes when called, or makes a good choice—we celebrate! With treats, praise, play, or affection.

With practice, they learn what makes you happy and get excited to do it again.

Why We Don’t Use Fear or Force

At Graceful Little Paws, we never use yelling, punishment, or intimidation.

Those methods might stop a behavior in the moment—but they damage your relationship with your dog over time.

It breaks trust, creates anxiety, and doesn't teach your dog what to do instead.

You didn't get a puppy to control through fear. You got a puppy to be your loyal friend—and that's exactly what we'll help you achieve.
